Everything you need to know about choosing, ordering, and getting the most out of your replacement dust collector cartridge filters.
Below are answers to the questions we hear most from facility managers, maintenance teams, and plant engineers. Don't see what you're looking for? Fill out our filter finder form or reach out to our specialists directly — we're happy to help.
Yes. Our replacement dust collector filters are engineered to meet or exceed the performance of the original manufacturers. In most cases, there's an excellent chance your filter comes from the very same manufacturing line as the OEM cartridge — just without the brand-name markup. Every filter we offer goes through rigorous testing for pressure drop, filtration efficiency, and dust-holding capacity before it's ever sold.
Our replacement filters are not manufactured by the original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). They're designed to be used as a direct replacement in that manufacturer's dust collection system, built to the same dimensional and media specifications, but offered at a more affordable price. The only notable exception is the Farr Gold Series, where patent restrictions prevent an exact replication of certain features, such as the inner cone.
We're confident enough in our filters that if you're not fully satisfied, you can ship them back and we'll credit your purchase. If a replacement filter doesn't perform at the same level as your OEM filter, you get your money back — no hassle.
Nanofiber filters use an ultra-fine fiber layer on top of the base filter media to capture sub-micron particulate that standard media can miss. The result is a higher-rated, longer-lasting cartridge filter that outperforms comparable options like the Farr Hemipleat in both filtration efficiency and service life. If your application generates very fine particulate or you're looking to extend time between filter changes, nanofiber is worth considering.
For a replacement filter to work effectively, it has to match your system's exact dimensions and use a filter media suited to what you're collecting. We typically start by looking at a few things:
Once we know these, we can match you with a filter that fits your collector and meets your application's demands. Complete our filter information form and we'll provide a customized recommendation and quote.
That's no problem — many customers don't have this information on hand. Fill out our filter finder form with whatever details you do have, such as your dust collector's brand and model, and our specialists will track down the correct replacement for you.
Air-to-cloth ratio, also called filter velocity, is the amount of airflow (in CFM) divided by the total square footage of filter media in your dust collector. For example, a collector running 3,000 CFM with 1,000 square feet of media has an air-to-cloth ratio of 2:1. Applications that generate higher particulate volumes generally need more filter media — and therefore a lower air-to-cloth ratio — to perform efficiently.
Getting this ratio right matters because it directly affects filter life, system efficiency, and maintenance costs. Too little media for the airflow causes dust to accumulate faster, building negative pressure and shortening filter life.
Yes. Not all industrial dust behaves the same way — some materials are reactive and can form combustible dust, while certain machining processes generate extreme heat. Both situations call for specialized filter media and, in some cases, additional equipment like explosion isolation devices. Let us know about your application's temperature demands and the type of dust being generated, and we'll help you identify a filter built to handle it safely.
Cartridge filters use a pleated design that packs significantly more surface area into the same footprint as a baghouse bag filter. That extra surface area lets air flow through more easily while still capturing dust efficiently, which generally means longer filter life, easier cleaning, and fewer filter changes compared to traditional bags.
Most dust collector companies don't manufacture their own filters — they source them from a small number of major ISO-rated manufacturers in the U.S. and then add a substantial markup before selling to end users. We work directly with those manufacturers, which lets us cut out the middleman and pass the savings on to you, often without any difference in quality or performance.
We carry replacement filters for dozens of major dust collector manufacturers, including:
Don't see your brand listed? Our specialists can still track down the right replacement filter for your system.
Complete our filter information form with as much detail as you have — your filter dimensions, part number, or dust collector brand and model — and our team will follow up with a customized quote and recommendation. You're also welcome to contact us directly for expert assistance.
If your exact filter isn't listed, don't worry — our specialists can still help. Reach out with whatever information you have about your dust collector and current filter, and our team will identify the correct match or a compatible equivalent for your system.
